CreArt network 3.0 is back!

CreArt network 3.0 is back!
20.02.202411:35

The third edition of the CreArt programme has begun!

CreArt 3.0 is currently a matrix composed by 13 European medium-sized cities, including Lublin, were again selected by the European Commission and received a subsidy of EUR 1.9 million. This will allow us to continue partnership and expand its area throughout Europe, under the catchphrase #stringing_together. The "CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together" project is launched as part of the CreArt network - Network of Cities for Artistic Creation.

Lublin has qualified for the second and final stage of the prestigious competition for European Capital of Culture 2029. The CreArt project fits perfectly into the recommendations of the ECoC expert panel. An decisive factor of ECoC projects, in accordance with the competition requirements, is their international cooperation potential and co-development exchange. All of this is offered to us by CreArt. The venture itself will be implemented together with other European cities over for the next 3 years. The catchphrase of the new project edition is #pushboundries - says Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, Deputy Mayor of Lublin for Culture, Sport and Participation.

The aim of "CreArt 3.0 #stringing_together" project is to exchange experiences and good practices for the promotion of contemporary art, through a permanent transnational mobility programme for emerging artists, curators and cultural workers, in order to maximize the economic, social and cultural contribution that creativity can make to local communities (#stringing_together). Simultaneously, CreArt 3.0 is pushing the boundaries (#pushboundaries) beyond the visual arts, empowering other artistic practices such as performing arts or music.

In January 2024, a new chapter of the project began and will last until the end of 2026. During this time, attention is being given to:

  • 45 artistic residencies in 15 European cities, over 39 public events as part of the European Creativity Month to be held in 13 cities associated with the network (additionally cities and organisations that will join),
  • 13 educational programmes supporting creativity and knowledge of contemporary art,
  • 18 street art festivals and 10 annual art gallery festivals in 9 cities,
  • 6 European conferences and study visits and 39 local seminars in 13 cities.

The project is implemented by the Culture Department of Lublin City Hall. More information about the project on kultura.lublin.eu in the International cultural cooperation.
