First European Youth Summit Against Rumours
17.10.202311:07

Young people from 16 European cities and 7 countries met in Lublin (European Youth Capital 2023) at the First European Youth Summit Against Gossip. From October 6-8, during three days of workshops and discussions, they exchanged experiences regarding activities supporting personal development and preventing discrimination.

The summit aimed to provide and give tools to young people involved in promoting a culture against gossip and discrimination:

  • to promote self-reflection and debate on common challenges, focusing on two topics that partners have identified as priorities: identity/identity and sense of belonging,
  • strengthening youth protagonism and activism by developing the first manifesto of European youth against gossip to promote new urban narratives from a cross-cultural perspective,
  • planting the seeds for the creation of the first European youth network against gossip.

The summit was promoted by Project NET-IDEA, coordinated by ICEI within a European Partnership formed by the Spanish & Portuguese Network of Intercultural Cities, a Swedish NGO working on Interculturalism & Anti-Discrimination, the city of Erlangen (Germany) and the city of Lublin, involving a total of 16 EUROPEAN CITIE from 6 COUNTRIES. NET-IDEA is funded by the European Commission in the framework of the CERV Programme.
