25.10.202310:33

The European Wergeland Centre, in partnership with The City of Lublin, invites young people and youth workers to the online seminar, which  is part of a series of youth exchanges between Ukraine, Poland and Norway. It will be devoted to the use of the non-violent communication (NVC) model as a strategy for strengthening dialogue culture by better understanding our own needs and contributing to what’s alive in us.

During the seminar we will:

  • introduce the four steps in the NVC communication model,
  • look into empathetic listening,
  • talk about how feelings connect with needs,
  • talk about conflict situations, triggers and solutions for managing personal and professional conflicts,
  • provide an opportunity for the participants to exchange their thoughts

The online seminar and exchange is divided into three parts:

  1. presentation regarding Non-Violent Communication with interactive elements from participants,
  2. exchange of thoughts and experiences between participants together with practice of emphatic listening,
  3. debrief in the plenary

Please, register for the seminar here.

We’d like to have an overview on how many participants will join the seminar. The link will be sent to the registered participants 30 minutes before the seminar starts.

The seminar will be hosted by an experienced dialog facilitator, human rights and conflict resolution educator, Monika Kochowicz with the support of Anastas Krusińska (they/them), an activist creating safer spaces for queer community in Poland. This is the first of online exchange-seminars organized by the European Wergeland Centre, in partnership with The City of Lublin, within the initiative Youth for the City, City for Youth. The bilateral initiative "Youth for the City, City for the Youth - projects and initiatives to engage and act in the local communities" is supported through the EEA and Norway Grants. The project's overall aim is to strengthen young people’s resilience to handle crisis and reinforce their ability and confidence to participate in public life.

The next seminar is planned for 23rd November and will focus on Inclusion and cancel culture in youth activism.
