The city offers further opportunities for financial support for residents of Lublin to implement their proposals for cultural activities aimed at local communities. Starting today (Friday, February 23), the call for the next edition of the "Districts of Culture" programme begins. This year it will be implemented in two categories: for adults - "Districts of Culture" and for youth - "Districts of Culture - Youth Inspires Districts".

We are starting the call for proposals for the "Districts of Culture" programme. All residents of Lublin, both adults and children, are invited to submit their proposals for cultural activities. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to present your projects in the neighborhoods, especially this year when we have reached the final stage of the competition for the European Capital of Culture 2029. It's a great opportunity to contribute to the efforts for this title and implement ideas that align with the ECoC 2029 concept. Our guiding motto is Re:Union, understood as a reuniting in diversity, and cultural activities in the neighborhoods are a wonderful way to unite local communities, as well as to connect residents from different parts of the city" - says Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, Deputy Mayor of Lublin for Culture, Sports, and Participation.

The aim of the municipal project is to increase active participation in culture by Lublin residents and to carry out youth cultural activities in Lublin's districts. Due to the initiative, adults and youth have the opportunity to receive financial support of up to 6,000 PLN for the implementation of their ideas. The project can be submitted individually, with another person, or with an informal group of at least 3 people. Adults above 30 years of age living in Lublin can apply for the "Districts of Culture" programme, while individuals aged 10 to 30 years living, studying, or attending school in Lublin can apply for the "Districts of Culture - Youth Inspires Districts" programme.

From today (Friday, February 23) until March 18, the programme operators - District Cultural Centers "Bronowice", "Węglin", and KReAdukacja Foundation for Educational Actions - are waiting for cooperation offers. "Dzielnice Kultury" (Districts of Culture) is a multi-year, interdisciplinary programme initiated in 2013, aimed at increasing the cultural potential of the 27 districts of Lublin. Its origins date back to efforts to obtain the title of ECoC 2016 and the concept outlined in Lublin's previous application under the name "European Cultural Districts". "Districts of Culture" offer the opportunity for universal participation in culture both as creators and recipients. Projects within the programme are created and implemented by residents for residents. In 2022, in connection with Lublin's preparations for the European Youth Capital celebrations, the formula of "Districts of Culture" was expanded to include the programme "Districts of Culture - Youth Inspires Districts".
