Remarkable, world-famous artist who spent his childhood in Lublin, where he attended schools and where his passion for art was born. In 1970, Mr. Tadeusz Mysłowski left for New York, where he settled permanently. He currently lives and works both in New York and Lublin. The artist has a studio located in the Old Town.
His works are in National Museums in Lublin, Kraków, Warsaw and Poznań, the Museum of Art in Łódź, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), the Louvre, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Projects made by Tadeusz Mysłowski can be found at the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin ("On i Ona ODNOWA"), Lublin Airport ("KrzesłoTron dla Malewicza") and State Museum at Majdanek - German Nazi Concentration and Death Camp ("Shrine").
In 2017, Ms. Irena Hochman, together with Tadeusz Mysłowski, donated to the City of Lublin, through the National Museum in Lublin, a collection of contemporary art works that had been piled up for over half a century. This collection has had a significant impact on visual art promotion and a social impact on the inhabitants of Lublin.
Through his work, Mr. Tadeusz Mysłowski contributed significantly to the cultural life development in Lublin, to building the status and strengthening the position of Lublin as a recognizable cultural centre in Poland. He was bestowed Honorary Citizenship by Resolution No. 1443/XLIX/2023 of the Lublin City Council of April 27, 2023.
