TOMASZ WÓJTOWICZ

Tomasz Wójtowicz - one of the greatest volleyball players in the world, was born on September 22, 1953 in Lublin. Nominated among the best "8" worldwide volleyball players and the American Volleyball Hall of Fame. Also nominated for the Volleyball Player of the Century Award in a great voting organised by the FIVB, and in 2002, as the first Pole, he was inducted to the Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke. Twice - in 1974/75 and 1982/83 - he was selected the best Polish volleyball player in "Przegląd Sportowy" voting. With his outstanding attitude, Tomasz Wójtowicz made Lublin acclaimed and glorious not only in Poland but all over the world. He was granted the Honorary Citizenship of Lublin on March 25, 2021.
