Lublin was one of three municipalities short-listed for the European Public Sector Award and recognized for its local contribution towards public participation which is implemented under umbrella term “Your City. You Decide!.” The city application was chosen from among 266 projects. These were submitted by self-governments from the whole Europe. The certificate of nomination was taken by Andrzej Wojewódzki, Secretary of the City, during the gala in Maastricht. Lublin also received Best Practice Certificate for the activity within the “Three Plus Family” programme.

In 2015, Lublin was the only Polish city to have its projects successfully verified and receive distinction.

“I am delighted that the activity of Lublin for the benefit of residents was recognised on the European level. This proves that our solutions not only work, but they also can be a good example for other entities from Poland and abroad,” said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin.

European Public Sector Award, EPSA 2015, is a prestigious competition organised by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) with its registered office in Maastricht. The official partner of the competition is, among others, the European Commission. The purpose of EPSA 2015 was to identify and promote the most interesting solutions in public sector within the European Union countries.
