Three rabbis in Lublin to debate Ecumenism.
24.02.202109:29

You are invited to watch a broadcast of the debate "Dialogue in Judaism" in the framework of the “Ecumenical Lublin” programme. The debate will be held on Wednesday, February 24, at 6.00 p.m., in the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva at Lubartowska 84. Unfortunately, due to epidemiological and sanitary restrictions, we have only planned to live stream the event with no audience on-site.

Professor Sławomir Jacek Żurek (Catholic University of Lublin) will moderate the discussion between three rabbis: Stas Wojciechowicz (Center for Progressive Community and Ec Chaim Synagogue of the Jewish Community in Warsaw), Michael Schudrich (Chief Rabbi of the Republic of Poland) and Dawid Szychowski (Łódź). During the debate, we hope to touch upon such issues as: What does Torah say on dialogue, the importance of dialogue in the relationship with God and people, the place of dialogue in Talmud and the influence of Judaism on the contemporary philosophy of dialogue and on the development of humanities.

The event opens next edition of the programme – “Ecumenical Lublin. People and forms of dialogue. Towards Jerusalem". This and subsequent monthly meetings are held to prepare for the Second International Ecumenical Congress "Jerusalem and Lublin – Cities of Dialogue", which will be held in Jerusalem on November 23-25, 2021.

Live report will be broadcasted on YouTube (Ekumeniczny Lublin) and Facebook (Lublin Ekumeniczny).
