Sport for students

Foreign students who study at Lublin’s best public and non-public higher education institutions play an increasing role in the city. In order to improve the standard and quality of studies, they can take part in sport competitions, representing their schools.

The purpose of academic sport rivalry is to improve the sport standard of student competitors through sport challenges; create an alternative, safe and healthy form of spending free time for students, the group highly exposed to the risk of various additions; promote sport and physical activity in the academic community and promote the City of Lublin among academic youth.

The organiser of the academic sport rivalry system is the Academic Sport Association Lublin Voivodship Community Club. Based on the subsidy granted by the Municipality of Lublin for the implementation of the public task “Organisation of Academic Sport Rivalry”, Academic Championships of the Lublin Voivodship are organised, in which students from all Lublin’s higher education institutions take part, both public and non-public. The Lublin Universiade – Championships of 1st Year Students – is an edition of competitions for first-year students of Lublin’s higher education institutions, who start to settle into the academic community. The Finals and Semi-Finals of Academic Championships of Poland are held and at the next stage, the winning teams compete at the central level.
