The Old Mansionary (Vicars’ House)

The Old Mansionary (Vicars’ House)
Address: ul. Archidiakońska 9
Place: Lublin
Post code: 20-117

The first reference to the old Vicars’ House comes from 1459. Originally, it was a tower situated in the town walls with a gate leading from the castle to the parish church. After a group of mansionaries was assembled in the 16th century (the vicars responsible for looking after the parish), a need arose to find accommodation for them located as close to the church as possible. It was decided that the tower would be allocated to the vicars. Following subsequent transformations, the tenement house, which still stands today, was gradually built around the tower. The past location of the tower was marked in brick colour.

Nowadays, the building has a residential function.
