The Night of Culture organizing team invites songwriters, lyricists, poets and other spoken word artists to take part in a workshop led by Pablopavo at Night of Culture 2015. The workshop is a unique opportunity to work with one of the most popular Polish vocalists and lyricists, Pablopavo. An expert on the so-called urban folk, a sensitive barometer of urban stories and flavours as well as the winner of this year’s Paszport Polityki Award, Pablopavo will curate a music zone during the 2015 Night of Culture. Accompanied by his ensemble Ludziki, the artist will showcase the most interesting pieces created at the workshop. To take part in the workshop with Pablopavo, send your lyrics to: info@nockultury.pl. The lyrics must pertain to urban culture. They can be about Lublin or about some other – not necessarily real – cities. They can also be about people, events, specific places and situations, or life in the city. You can submit both lyrics or lyrics with music. The deadline for submissions is 17 May. Pablopavo will select 10 most interesting – in his opinion – entries, and their authors will take part in the workshop led by Pablopavo in Lublin on 5 June (Friday). The participants will discuss ways of creating lyrics and treating it as material for a potential song. The best two lyrics will be arranged musically and performed live on stage during Night of Culture 2015. The 9th Night of Culture will be held on the night of 6/7 June 2015.
