The Workshops of Culture announce a workshop on slow motion animation. The workshop is for children who live in the “Za Cukrownią” neighbourhod. Participants will get to know various animation techniques, including doll and clay animation, cutout animation, storyboard, pixilation and combined techniques. Following a short introduction to the history of animation, they will together make an animated film. Stop-motion motion animation is the technique of creating motion and shape change illusion by the rapid display of a sequence of static images, usually in a succession of 24 frames per second. This workshop is a unique experience and opportunity to develop your imagination and to unlock your yet-undiscovered creative potential. Not only is the workshop great fun, but it teaches patience and enhances teamwork skills, too. Venue: Combined Schools No. 6 in Lublin (Krochmalna 29) Dates: 12-13 and 19-20 November 2014, 4 pm - 6pm Rules: To sign up for the workshops, phone us at 81 533 08 18 (Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm). The workshop is for children aged 8-11. During the classes the children must be attended by their minders. Participation in ALL classes is required. The workshop is free of charge. Instructor: Anna Chabros-Piłat Anna Chabros-Piłat is a painter, graphic designer and maker of short animated films. A graduate of the MCSU’s Fine Arts Faculty, she is the winner of the 2013 “Żurawie” Lublin Cultural Award for Best Image. Her love affair with stop-motion animation began in her university years, when she made her first attempts in creating animated films using different techniques. She made her first festival film, “Zielona alternatywa” (Green Alternative), when she was still a student. Following graduation, she decided to enhance her animating skills and took a course with the Academy Award-winning SE-MA-FOR film studio in Lodz. Her latest production ”Kołowrotek” (Spinning Wheel) continues the long-established tradition of the Polish school of stop-motion animation. The workshops are organized by the Workshop of Cultures in Lublin in collaboration with the Agata Budzyńska Association for Creative and Educational Activities at Primary School No. 17 in Lublin. The project is part of “Districts of Culture - A Culture Development Programme for the Districts of Lublin.”
