The 2015 Summer School of Traditional Craft participants will learn how to make spiders (pająki), i.e. folk interior decorations hanged in the center of a room. They will acquire not only knowledge about kinds, applications and places of origin of these decorations, but primarily the practical skill of creating these beautiful objects using straw, pea, tissue paper, yarn and colourful materials.
The summer School of Making Spiders will be held from 13 to 16 August. The classes will be held at the Dominican‘s auditorium at 9 Złota Street, from 11 am to 4 pm. Participants will sign up for classes led by one folk artist. Every artist will represent a different region of the country and a different type of spiders.
The participants must be 15 or older. They are obliged to take part in all classes. The Summer School of Making Spiders is free of charge yet the participants must pay a security deposit of 100 PLN which will be refunded upon completion of the classes.
