On August 12-31, the Town Hall Gallery invites for an exhibition prepared by the Swiss Embassy entitled "Modern Direct Democracy. Poland and Switzerland".

Swiss democracy, combining direct mechanisms and representative governments, often exemplifies as a foundation for political, social and economic stability. This exhibition focuses on Swiss citizens' rights and ways of holding the highest political power.

Switzerland's long experience based on social initiatives and referendums at all political levels, reveals many absorbing facts and aspects of democracy. Its comparison with democratic instruments in Poland and Europe creates a chance for debate on contemporary political systems.

The exhibition presents the history of democracy in our countries and direct democratic instruments for the active participation of citizens.
