The "Konfrontacje Teatralne" Festival has begun!
04.10.201811:17

The opening performance “Uncle Vanya” directed by Ivan Vyrypaev was shown on the stage of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures Opera Hall. The Anton Chekhov’s drama producted by the Polish Theater in Warsaw was a chance to see some of the well-known actors including: Karolina Gruszka, Andrzej Seweryn and Maciej Stuhr.

The substantial chunk of the Polish part of Konfrontacje’s programme is taken by the review of Komuna Warszawa’s performances. It is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting theatre centres in the country. The head of Komuna Warszawa, Grzegorz Laszuk, will show “7 Songs about Avant-Garde” – a performance created in response to the state celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the avant-grade and an invitation to ponder on the relationship between novel artistic ideas and socio-political reality.

For the first time, during the Festival, directing students from the Cracow and Warsaw theater academies are proposing their workshop work. As the youngest generation puts the first steps in the theater, we are able to see where the theater will go in the following years.

23rd “Konfrontacje Teatralne” take place in various city spaces: Cultural Center in Lublin, Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, J. Osterwa Theater, the Old Theater and the Labirynt Gallery.

Tickets and passes are available now.
