Hotel Kosmos was formed in 2003 by Tomek Wegner and Rafał Skonieczny – students of Polish Philology at that time. In 2004 Błażej Lipiński (keyboard) and Mikołaj Kubik (drums) joined the band. In the same year the band recorded an EP at Radio Sfera (production: Jacaszek). This time was also an end of their postpunk period and a start of new experimental sounds. In March 2008 Kuka Records released Hotel Kosmos’s debut album “Wszystkie Stare Kobiety Miasta” (All the Elder Women of the City). The music was mixed and produced at MÓZG Studio by Grzegorz Kaźmierczak – the leader of Variete.
The album lists 11 songs in the new wave spirit. Next to short, brief and hit songs, you can also find long psychedelic-guitar meditations. Night trips to recesses of the city, dead end streets and suspicious districts. Hotel Kosmos’s inspirations are drawn from cold wave, psychedelic and alternative guitar journeys such as those you hear in Ewa Braun. Their characteristic trans sounds are supported by strongly metaphorical lyrics.

Śmierć Disko Sound(s) is a dj-team twisting people’s spines, minds and ears with alternative sounds from late 70’s till now. At the end it’s all about dancing so they try to dig out dancing grooves from music trends such as postpunk, new wave, cold wave, no wave, electro and dance-punk. They keep travelling virtually through time and space, bringing carefully selected sounds for the ones of strong feet and open minds.
Lately Śmierć Disko Sound(s) have played at various art and culture festivals and “live act/dead act” gigs. They warmed up the audience of artists like Procesora Plus and Dick4Dick and played after-parties with Mikrowafle, Organizm, Bruno Schulz, Bajzel, Stodola and Naczynia.
