Centralny Theatre and The Scena Prapremier InVitro invites to see a play "Zły".(Bad)
Director: Łukasz Witt-Michałowski
Script: Dariusz Jeż, Grzegorz Kondrasiuk
Music: Paweł Passini
Stage design: Lech Mazurek, Łukasz Witt-Michałowski
Cast: Przemysław Buksiński, Remigiusz Jankowski, Dariusz Jeż
Running time: 90 minutes

The play is based on experiences of Dariusz Jeż, currently an actor at The Scena Prapremier InVitro but in the past a convicted criminal who engaged in criminal activity, was sentenced to prison and served a few years..
While in Remand Centre in Lublin, Jeż met a theatre director Łukasz Witt-Michałowski, who was working on staging Lysistrata by Aristophanes in “Theatre at the Prison Cell”. Jeż was one of the performing prisoners. This was the beginning of the authentic story about an ex-convict, whose life changed under the influence of art.
“The authors of Zły" created a lucid and well-put-together play, without unnecessary dazzling of the viewer with brutality on the one hand, and without excessive moralizing on the other. They reconstructed life, for which Jeż was the prototype, into a clear and simple story .
Przemysław Buksiński took upon himself the responsibility of playing the main part and is superb as young and, later on, older Darek. Supporting actors: Remigiusz Jankowski and Dariusz Jeż himself, both give excellent performances, especially Jeż, who underwent a major change from prison to theatre and is not afraid to tell about it."
Grzegorz Józefczuk, Gazeta Wyborcza 22.Dec.09

The power of „Zły” is its multiplicity of meanings and the work put into it. In the script there is not one unnecessary word, no irrelevant thought or superfluous embellishment to deceive us. raises himself up right in front of our eyes. He looks into tens, hundreds of faces and seems to be saying: „It’s me. Real one, unmodified. You’ve seen my story, now you can judge me, for I’m standing here unashamed.” But no one wants to judge, as we begin to understand that none of us is better, more virtuous or moral, as we clearly see our weaknesses and dark parts of our souls, usually hidden away more or less readily. That way a man whose life was transformed by art has the power to transform us with art. And this is the magic of capturing what’s elusive.
