These are the Artist’s latest works, exceptionally lyrical and nostalgic. Myklebostad uses a wide range of shades of blue and builds space in her pictures in an incredibly expressive, idiosyncratic way, which gives her works unique depth.
I’m an artist and I have been painting my whole life. Art is something I cannot live without. I often let art find me the way I find art. There’s been an interaction between art and me; it takes a form of continual rhythm that changes into drawings, sculptures and stage design.
My work is usually based on a topic which is subsequently transformed into a series of paintings. The topic comes from the place where I am here and now. My personal experience influences my painting and my artistic idiomaticity. When I decide on aesthetics of form and composition of my works, maintaining austerity and straightforwardness is a crucial issue for me. I constantly study new materials, as they are a source of inspiration necessary for my artistic expression. Another important element for my work is music. Most of the time I work on multiple paintings simultaneously and, I think, in these moments I find myself in a state of mind whichis almost impossible to describe and which I call ‘flow’.
