The owner of a sugarcane plantation wants to properly celebrate the forthcoming Easter Week. Posing as Jesus Christ, he invites twelve slaves of his own choosing to participate in a grand supper. In addition, the aristocrat is erroneously convinced that by washing the feet of his subalterns on Maundy Thursday and allowing the slaves to dine alongside him he becomes the epitome of the evangelical value of faith. The feast finishes with a drunken orgy and Good Friday puts a brutal end to the ideals of mercy and reconciliation of yesterday. The Planation will ultimately turn into Golgotha, into Calvary …
