The Krzysztof Herdzin Trio – Krzysztof Herdzin is one of the most versatile musicians on the Polish scene and one of the most in-demand studio players. Because of that you can hardly hear him live, which makes his Lublin concert an even more momentous performance. This time around he will be backed by his new bass player Robert Kubiszyn, recipient of the 2011 Fryderyk Jazz Debut Record of the Year Award, and Cezary Konrad, his long-time drummer and a highly innovative magician of rhythms in his own right.
Their latest offering, which they will be promoting live in Lublin, is an album entitled “Capacity”. Full of brilliant originals by the leader, it also features an acoustic version of the Yellowjackets’ standard “Prayer for El Salvador. Pure, unique jazz, brimming with passion and bravura”. Anna Drozd, curator of the music programme at the Old Theatre
The Krzysztof Herdzin Trio was established in 2004 during the recording of a live concert at the Warsaw-based Tygmont Club, later on issued as “Live in Tygmont”. A classic jazz trio widely regarded as one of the most intriguing jazz groups in Poland. Back then it consisted of: Krzysztof Herdzin - piano, Zbigniew Wegehaupt – double bass, Cezary Konrad - percussion.
In autumn 2011 the trio issued their so far latest album “Capacity”.
