Single mother Karítas is afflicted by life’s vicissitudes and has absolutely no idea what her twelve-year-old son Gudmund’s life revolves around: he is on the slippery slope toward destruction. Forty-year-old schizophrenic Marínó is Gudmund’s only friend, who lives in the same housing complex, sharing the flat with his own mother. Gudmund’s father, Gardar is entangled in the crime underworld of Reykjavik that he tries to get out of. One day he decides to visit his son that he has not seen for years …
