Barbara Bartczak was born in Pionki near Radom in 1978. In 2003 she graduated in Art History from Lublin’s Catholic University and then took a one-year course in photography at Kensington and Chelsea College in London. She draws inspiration for her works mainly from the magic of theatrical art which she was close to for almost six years at the Royal Opera House in London. She specializes in fine art photography. Her works draw on influence from Lilian Bassman’s photography. Bartczak portrays people, particularly women with their secretive soul and oft-forgotten femininity.

In 2012 her photographs were shown at the 2012 Łódź Design Festival as part of an exhibition titled “W naszej świadomości SZTUKAteria jest kobietą” (In Our Opinion, STUCCOwork Is a Woman).

The exhibition will run until September 7, 2014. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11 AM to 4 PM.

Admission free.
