The first application submitted by Lublin resulted in our city being short-listed in the competition for the title of the European Capital of Culture 2029. Currently, work is underway to create a revised, more detailed application. This will constitute the basis, along with study visits, and the final hearings for the panel members to choose the winning city.
What is the idea behind Lublin’s bid, and how did the experts assess it?
We are proud to present Lublin’s application in the competition for the title of European Capital of Culture 2029. It is created in cooperation with our city’s cultural community: artists, animators, and social activists. It expresses our responsibility for the future of Lublin, and Eastern Europe; our faith in the strength of the urban community, and the courage to face the current challenges set by the European Union.
Our answer is RE:UNION.
Mayor of the City of Lublin
